Live Blogging 2010: Illinois

Win one for The Donnie.
It’s finally Big Ten season across the Midwest.  The MAC portion of the schedule has finally concluded and it’s Big Ten teams all the way to finish for the Buckeyes.  They again start with Illinois, but will this time take to the road.  The game in Champaign is Ohio State’s first such road encounter this season.

My preview is here.  The Buckeyes will be without Jake Stoneburner this game, leaving them without a cool weapon to unleash on Illinois’ linebackers.  Nevertheless, Ohio State will likely stick to its guns against the Illini, choosing to keep things grounded.  Memorial Stadium has a reputation as a wind-tunnel and it won’t help that rain will be on the horizon for the game, much like it was last year against the Illini in Columbus.  This may play in the Illini’s favor.  They haven’t really unleashed their freshman quarterback through the air this season and seem reticent to do so.  Mikel Leshoure will be asked to carry the Illini in conditions that favor rushing.  Likewise, Pryor will try to find the edge of the defense and the Buckeyes will hope that either Saine or Herron will pick up the tough yards between the tackles.

Live blog is below.  I’ll see you there.
