Buckeyes Add Warren Ball To 2012 Class

Warren Ball
The Buckeyes are still working on wrapping up their 2011 class, though the collection of talent they have now ranks among the region, and nation’s, best.  Tonight, talented, rising junior Warren Ball, a tailback from Columbus’ St. Francis DeSales HS (see: Adam Griffin) committed to Ohio State as part of the 2012 class, joining Olentangy prospect Josh Perry.

His recruitment ends before it truly started, but that is not to say that Ball couldn’t be big time in his class if he so desired.  He had been hearing from programs across the country in his sophomore year.  He is already hovering around the 6’0 200lb area and could actually get faster as he grows into his body.  He has a desirable combination of speed and power and can only get better.  Bucknuts lists strong interest from places like Wisconsin, Michigan, LSU, Michigan State and Oregon.  That is only a sample of schools that were interested in the lifelong Buckeye fan.  Ultimately, Ball went with the dream school and ended all speculation early.  He will join a backfield in 2012 that should be getting obscenely loaded with talent.

Importantly, Ball gets it done in the classroom as well.  He carries a 4.0.

Film is available after the jump.
