This is probably going to be a rolling post, so you may want to check back for more information.  Sadly, Ohio State signee Jamel Turner was shot for the second time in a matter of weeks.  He survived the first shooting, but may not survive this one.

I don’t know for sure the origin of the story, but it appears it started on the Scout.com message boards.  Therein, a friend/family member close to Turner revealed that he was the victim of another shooting.  I don’t have all the details, but the story goes that a man broke into a residence containing Turner and a female associate.  The man in question was apparently an ex-boyfriend or current boyfriend of the girl in question, though reports conflict on whether the girl was Jamel Turner’s girlfriend or just a relative.  The suspect apparently opened fire, killing the girl instantly and critically wounding Turner.  While the shooting is told to have taken place in a house, Turner was found outside the home by a stop sign.  Bucknuts’ understanding is that the suspect has been apprehended, though WYTV says no arrests have been made.

As it stands now, Jamel Turner’s female associate is dead and Turner himself is fighting for his life.  I’ll try to keep you posted.

Minor Update (08:00pm):

Vindy.com adds that the shooting took place in a home where the young woman murdered was babysitting. Turner happened to be there as well and was the one that called the police for help.

Update (Sunday):

Bucknuts announced his death, though it turns out this was premature.  Importantly, Jamel Turner made it through the night, which was the crucial period that could determine his fate.  We may not hear much more today; the family is asking for privacy.
