Buckeyes’ Recruiting Roll Continues With Michael Bennett

The 2011 Ohio State recruiting class is becoming very heavy on linemen and, well, no one is complaining. Already, the Buckeyes have added Brian Bobek, Chris Carter and Antonio Underwood to the fold.  Tommy Brown is a two-way player that should, who may join the other offensive linemen or add to the defensive line haul that already includes Elyria’s finest Chase Farris, Kenny Hayes, and the Steve Miller Band.  Now, high priority recruit Michael Bennett is part of this linemen-heavy class.

Bennett, a Centerville Elk, is a two-way player and projects on both sides of the ball, much like Tommy Brown.  However, Bennett feels like defense is the natural fit and, fortunately, the coaching staff agrees.  Ohio State sees him as a future defensive tackle, the position that produces the most eye-popping results on film.  He plays to the finish and, honestly, seems to annihilate everything he touches.  He understands leverage and I think he performs better when he is given the simple task of obliteration.

Different programs offered Bennett seeing him in different positions, but ultimately many college football powers wanted the likable, hard-working Bennett in their program.  His commitment to Ohio State comes at the expense of programs like Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, USC, and Nebraska.  All of these programs offered Bennett.

Bennett is the eleventh commitment in the 2011 class.  Film can be seen below.

I truly wish nothing but the best for those Northwestern trolls that were on here a few weeks ago about this fine young man. (End sarcasm) I hope their bad conduct and mud slinging contributed to the decision of Mr. Bennett.
