Buckeyes Finally Get Commitment From Jeremy Cash

Jeremy Cash introduced himself to Buckeye fans summer last year during a summer football camp at Ohio State.  Recently enrolled at Plantation HS outside of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cash trekked by car all the way to Columbus, Ohio and checked into camp wearing a suit.  The message was that it was all business.  He later returned, via air, to Columbus, Ohio for the ill-fated USC game and left assured that he had an offer.  Note that: he received an offer about two weeks into the time period (his junior year of high school) when he was allowed to receive an offer.  An open Buckeye lean, most assumed a commitment would follow.

No commitment was immediately forthcoming.  As recently as two days ago, recruiting analysts assumed the Buckeyes lost their edge with Jeremy Cash  and that he may be as likely to go to Ohio State as he would Florida State, Miami, Nebraska or Florida, should the Gators ultimately offer.  Tonight, he called Jim Tressel to affirm that Jeremy Cash will tango to Columbus for college.

Yes, it was a terrible movie and I had to go there.

The commitment is a fortunate one for Ohio State.  The future safety (I’m thinking) was a priority for the Buckeyes.  Juniors do not get offers in September from places like Ohio State at random.  The Buckeyes were impressed with his camp performance, like his sincere interest in Ohio State and offered him early.  The commitment gives Ohio State a hard hitter at the position.  Junior film is below for your consideration (after the jump).  Buckeye fans going to the Spring Game may not see Jeremy Cash, though.  He had plans to attend Ohio State for that weekend, but it is likely a family function will interfere1.

  1. Not that it should stop you from showing up at Ohio Stadium. []
