Live Blogging ’09: Iowa
Gameday is finally here. The Buckeyes host Iowa for the Buckeyes’ Senior Day, the farewell sendoff for Andre Amos, Jake Ballard, Kurt Coleman, Jim Cordle, Todd Denlinger, Joe Gantz, Tom Ingham, Andrew Moses, Aaron Pettrey, Dan Potokar, Rob Rose, Anderson Russell, Ryan Schuck, Ray Small, Austin Spitler, Jon Thoma, Marcus Williams, Lawrence Wilson, and Doug Worthington. What better way to send a class of Seniors out then some roses, some championship t-shirts and ballcaps and a Big Ten trophy.
In the end, that’s Big Ten football. That’s America.
Still, today’s foe will be no lightweight. Iowa’s defense is as good as any in the country, let alone the Big Ten. Further, their strength is on the edges with players like Adrian Clayborn and Broderick Binns, which is precisely our weakpoint. James Vandenberg had a week to prepare and will have some good receivers and an excellent tight end to help him. I’m taking nothing for granted regarding this game, no matter the odds Vegas has in our favor. Terrelle Pryor has been nursing a sore ankle too, and one bad pivot may change the complexion of this game. God forbid.
You can read my preview here. I may or may not make it for the live blog. I have a work-thing (recruiting, interviewing prospective hires) that ends right as the Bucks kickoff. I might head to a nearby restaurant and watch it there. That doesn’t mean you can’t contribute to Jeff‘s live blog, though. God willing, I’ll be back here in time to boast about buying my Big Ten championship swag.
