Live Blogging ’09: Indiana

Game day is finally here for this week.  Ohio State goes on the road to play Indiana in its conference opener.  Meanwhile, Indiana looks to show that it is no longer interested in moral victories.

A preview post has already been given, but there’s a few things worth noting that was not discussed in that post.  First, the injury bug has arrived at Ohio State.  Ross Homan should play against Indiana, but is listed as a co-starter with backup WLB Andrew Sweat.  Boom Herron is about 85 percent and, as a result, will not start against the Hoosiers.  Brandon Saine, offensive captain for this game, will.  Jim Cordle, still out with an injury, will continue to be replaced by JB Shugarts.  Elsewhere, injuries are not responsible for other changes to the secondary.  Anderson Russell is in for the suspended Kurt Coleman1 while Orhian Johnson, redshirt freshman, will be the nickel back2.

Story of the upcoming game for me, so far, has been the possible re-emergence of Evil Tressel.  Be it commanding a team that’s posted two straight shut-outs, not-so-subtly mocking angry fans, or joint-issuing an epic bitchslapping of the Big Ten for Coleman’s suspension, this doesn’t seem to be your old man’s Jim Tressel.  One look no further than Donnie Evege finally unleashed on college football’s special teams in all his ungodly horror to see indications that Tressel is pissed.  Finally.  May Indiana be the latest in line to suffer for it.

    Vico, what amazes me was last night ( Friday night ) I watched an episode on the BTN about this weeks up coming match ups. And I have no idea why , Jerry Dinardo and another guy was just railing on Coleman still and Ohio State was wrong in thier statement to the Conference. Those guys on the BTN cannot let that go.

    We are gonna bring the Hoosiers back to reality a bit, especially thier offense. Miiiiiichigan for all intense and purposes is not who people say they are ( and they too will have a reality check come a certain day in November ) Indiana could not capitalize on 3 or 4 muff snaps, and could not put away the Wolverines when given many opportunities last week.

    Buckeyes win in a route…………..35-0.

    Hey Guys, sorry I won’t be around to enjoy the ass whupping with ya. It’s my anniversary. I offered to take her dancing after dinner, but she insisted we go to a sports bar and watch the game. Damn, I love that woman!

    I loved Duron Carters TD catch…………but I loved the block he laid down de-cleating a Indiana player on a Pryor scramble for a first down. That got alot of ohhs and ahhs from the crowd……………..
