Buckeyes add verbal no. 2 for 2010
Turner was an OSU lean for some time, a sentiment bolstered by the fact that Turner was the subject of the first offer by Ohio State’s staff in the 2010 class. He added offers from LSU, both Michigan schools, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Illinois (there’s a shock…) and Stanford, among others. But it should come as no surprise that Turner selected the Buckeye helmet at today’s presser. He says he looks forward to playing in front of his family and friends at the home school. Turner, like all good Ohio kids, typifies the motto that all good Ohio kids aspire to play at Ohio State. He will have to work on pronunciation of the university, though. In the aforementioned Bucknuts article, he forgets to include the prefix of THE.
You can watch a highlight film here, courtesy of Scouting Ohio, if you’re interested. Turner is an impressive athlete, whose prowess has merited conversation on him possibly being the no. 1 in-state recruit for the 2010 class. Given the caliber of recruits in-state in 2010 (Macon, Hicks, Brown among others), I’ll shy away from that bold statement. Still, Turner looks mighty impressive. If you want a stat line to jump out at you immediately: the dude had 23 sacks as a sophomore… and, yes, that’s a sophomore highlight clip you’re watching from the link earlier in this paragraph.

Good to see Tressel getting the in-state players early before Michigan or Illinois come knocking.
