It also helps that they aided our BCS hopes enormously with the win. Thanks Oregon!
I was hoping for some additional upsets like Baylor, Oklahoma State… But the Oregon win is helpful.
There are 5 BCS bowls – Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta and the BCS National Championship game.
Say we get picked for the Orange Bowl. That would mean that in the BCS era (1998-present) we would have played in every BCS bowl…except the Rose.
Ironic.
Vico, since when did we get stationary?
It looks like we are headed to the Fiesta Bowl against Texas or the Sugar Bowl against ALABAMA! (You can’t just say Alabama, it is ALABAMA!)
Not related to Oregon or anything, but I just found this cute tidbit from the Georgia-Georgia Tech game.
Georgia Tech ran out the clock without giving Georgia another shot. So much for those skeptics who never thought an offense that brings back memories of the wishbone could succeed at a major-conference program.
“Now we don’t have to listen to them say that it can’t work on this level against a ‘mighty SEC defense,” said Richard [Samuel, Georgia Tech running back], who had a piece of hedge stuck above his ear.
