Adam Bellamy becomes commitment no. 17

Ohio State extended an offer to Aurora HS product Adam Bellamy after an impressive showing in camp on Sunday. For Bellamy, it was the offer he always wanted and was seen walking around with an Ohio State shirt soon after he got the offer. All that really was stopping him from committing immediately was the time necessary to talk it over with the folks. With nothing holding him back, Adam Bellamy committed to the Buckeyes just recently, becoming the 17th commitment in what promises to be another stacked recruiting class for Ohio State. Bellamy noted that everything about Ohio State just seemed overwhelmingly positive, from the coaching staff and the way they approach things to the facilities they have on campus.

Bellamy projected at either an offensive guard at college or a defensive tackle. For Ohio State’s staff, though, he will be a run-stopper in the Buckeyes’ interior defense down the road, and should be a nice compliment in the 2009 class to the veritable superhoss in John Simon. That said, Bellamy has expressed that he is just fine playing wherever the staff needs him.

The commitment is a welcome detriment to the University of Michigan, who offered Bellamy on June 2nd. Indeed, he was planning on taking a visit up to Ann Arbor in the upcoming days, but will likely decide against it.

As always, we love players coming to Ohio State who aspire to be Buckeyes. Further, we always welcome players with the kind of mean streak and hustle Bellamy has, as seen in these highlights.
