exactly, patsy? far from it. Navy bested the genius of Charlie Weis as Hawkeye State noted. Our strength of schedule can only go up.

But seriously, I'm geeked out. I hope we treat Navy with more respect than Rutgers did, both on and off the field. I know our fans are as surly as it gets, but I would like to think we're above jeering an injured Middie when he hobbles off the field. Oh, and the whole leaving Ray Rice in to pad his Heisman stats. Seriously, that was like the biggest dick move on all fronts of the 2007 season.

Hawkeye State cracks me up. I for one would usually laugh at Ohio State for scheduling a patsy like the service academies, but I also know they have series with Tennessee, USC, etc. coming up. They are certainly not shying away from the Big matchups so congratz on scheduling Navy. At least you're not scheduling Coastal Carolina

Hawkeye State, Notre Dame is even laughing at you non-conference schedule(s)....lets take a look:

Iowa's nonconference schedules
2008 = Maine, Florida International, Iowa St, Pittsburgh

2007 = North Illinois 2-10, Syracuse 2-10, Iowa St 3-9, Wst Michigan 5-7
combined D1A opponent record 12-36, D1AA opponent record 0-0

2006 = Montana 12-2, Syracuse 4-8, Iowa St 4-8, Northern Illinois 7-6
combined D1A opponent record 15-22, D1AA opponent record 12-2

2005 = Ball St 4-7, Iowa St 7-5, North Iowa 11-4
combined D1A opponent record 11-12, D1AA opponent record 11-4

2004 = Kent St 5-6, Iowa St 7-5, Arizona St 9-3
combined D1A opponent record 21-14, D1AA opponent record 0-0

2003 = #15 Miami (OH) 13-1, Buffalo 11-1, Iowa St 2-10, Arizona St 5-7
combined D1A opponent record 20-18, D1AA opponent record 11-1

2002 = Akron 4-8, Miami (OH) 7-5, Iowa St 7-7, Utah St 4-7
combined D1A opponent record 22-27, D1AA opponent record 0-0

the sad thing is you guy STILL suck even with these schedules.

Get back to us when you play a decent to good BCS team each year like this (please don't throw the Iowa State line at me....just because they beat you every year does not meant they are good):

2002 = Texas Tech and #7 Washington State
2003 = Washington and North Carolina State
2004 = North Carolina State
2005 = #2Texas
2006 = #2 Texas
2007 = Washington
2008 = USC

The only (nonconference) team ranked in the top 25 that Iowa has played since 2002 is Miami (OH) and we both know that in no way did Iowa EVER imagine that Miami(OH) would be ranked when they scheduled them.
