update on Pryor’s Corvette
A quick review of Brian’s original AOL article shines a new light on the apparent Pryor-Corvette scandal.
This much we knew back then, as mentioned in the aforementioned OHD post:
The implication is that Ohio State’s athletic department – which launders money to its football players that has been acquired through illicit narcotics transactions with the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia Ejercito del Pueblo (FARC) – set up the two parties to bribe Pryor into coming to The Ohio State University where he, like other Buckeyes, can work part time at the McCracken Power Plant turning newborn children, puppies and all things sunshine and lollipops into consolidated units of pure evil (and, the light-fat evil option of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Pure Evil ™ ) all the while leading the tackle football team to gridiron glory.
and this much, we apparently now know:
Hello all,
I’ve been reading this article here and can’t help but laugh about it. I live in Jeannette, Pa. and run a website/blog on The Jeannette Jayhawks, (Terrelle’s State Champion football team)and I’ve been looking at this photo and I remember it from the past. Yes the past!!
This photo was taken when Terrelle was a sophomore and was only ranked 3rd in the nation. The car does belong to Sarniak, but it was only used to promote Terrelle’s image for all college recruiters 1 . Not just Ohio State! I’m almost positive that Sarniak is the one taking the photo as well.
Mr. Sarniak and several others have known Terrelle since he was only 9 years old, my friend coached him in midgets football at that time also. So they all knew of the potential that TP had in front of him. And wanted to help guide Terrelle down the right set of tracks in his life. It’s that simple! So you all are making a mountain out of a mole hill here. It’s funny to read all this stuff!
Ergo, either this photo is more smoke than fire or Ohio State’s boosters are shiftier than we thought.
The author of that comment seemingly runs a blog dedicated to the Jeannette Jayhawks football team (where Pryor played and went to school), so we’re assuming he/she is in the know. Nonetheless, the ever-changing tide of information on this issue reminds us here all too much of politics… and how much we hate politics and hope this blog never degenerates into the copy-paste of selected information used to support an a priori viewpoint (here: we love the Bucks and don’t think they’re doing anything so egregious. elsewhere: we hate those clubfooted Buckeyes and would love to see them brought to their doom).
Nonetheless, we thought our many readers reader should know.
- promote his image? do college football recruits need an image? He’s not courting advertisement deals here… … is he? [↩]
surprisingly, not a lot of people have picked up on this yet.
It’s too much fun bashing OSU. No time to check into facts or anything else.
