Mike Adams moves to no. 3 overall in Rivals 100
Gabby knows, but no one else knows as of yet (because no one reads this junk heap of a blog) how truly enamored OHD is with Mike Adams. For those unaware, Mike Adams truly is a magnificent sight for our tired eyes. 6’7 308lbs, pretty quick on his feet for a guy his size, and quite ill-tempered on his blocks, Mike Adams has us dreaming sweet dreams of Orlando Pace. Evidently, Rivals.com has finally figured out what OHD has known all along: Mike Adams might very well be the King of Kings.
After months and months of debate — especially from the Ohio State fans — about where Mike Adams of Dublin (Ohio) Coffman falls into the national scene, he proved in the Army game that those local observers in the Midwest were right.
He’s special.
Adams was one of the most dominating offensive line prospects to ever play in the game, and his performances in the game and in practice were the talk of the camp. The 6-foot-7, 308-pound offensive tackle not only was one of the most physically impressive players this season, he backed it up with his play.
“I first saw him on senior tape, and thought there was no doubt at all he’s something special,” Rivals.com recruiting analyst Barry Every said. “I know one of my co-workers has been singing his praises all year long, but to see what he did in the Army game totally validated his status as one of the nation’s best players, period.
“He’s a franchise left tackle that should be a future first-round draft pick someday.”
Rivals.com national analyst Mike Farrell agrees.
“He has amazing size, quick feet and simply dominated down in San Antonio,” Farrell said. “Seeing him in person was definitely believing. He definitely deserved to move up that high in the rankings.”
Anyone who has seen highlight of this guy should not be that surprised. If this guy takes it upon himself to continually get better and better, he will be Orlando Pace for a new generation of Buckeye fans. Mike Adams dominated at the high school level for Dublin Coffman (also where incoming teammate Jake Stoneburner is from). Mike Adams quite obviously overmatched everyone in the Ohio Capital Conference (and Ohio in general) in what is a decent football conference in the Franklin County area in a very respectable — top 5, perhaps — football state in general. At the Army All-American game, this guy simply blew people away. For anyone who watches offensive lines and obsesses about lineplay like Gabby and I do, eyes were immediately drawn to the left tackle for the East side and how dominant he was in that game. And we do mean dominant as well, where we earnestly think he deserved MVP honors for his exceptional play.
Highlights of his Dublin Coffman days can be seen below, where, upon watching, you see that not even the referee is safe from a vicious pancake at the hands of Mike Adams. This guy, more often than not, blocks two guys on any given play after planting a defensive lineman in the ground.
We here at OHD laud rivals.com for finally giving Mike Adams his just due. With this new recognition, it should be readily apparent to all that Mike Adams was sent to The Ohio State University by God to smite all degenerates, liars, philanderers, Michiganders and other evildoers who oppose the divine mission of Big Ten domination and national titles for the Buckeyes. We here at OHD are confident that the way, the truth, and the light will be revealed by Mike Adams, upon his arrival, through a vicious pancake block that all can easily rush a ball through for greater glory… and multiple touchdowns.
Wow! He is to offense what Vernon Gholston was to defense (who, was to defense what Orlando Pace was to offense.) He is also to pancakes what Chuck Norris is to round-house kicks (who is to round-house kicks what Beanie Wells is to straight-arms, who is to … oh, you get the idea.)
It wasn’t Moses that parted the Red Sea, it was Mike Adams, with a vicious pancake block!
Next (couple of) year(s) is looking good!
