Martin makes it 17
Good news from the recruiting trail as another Tarblooder joins the fray:
The Buckeyes might not get every player out of Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville high school but there are few that get away from the Buckeyes. Fullback Jermil Martin was committed to Iowa until making a weekend visit to Columbus that netted Martin and offer and the Buckeyes a new fullback.
Getting a Tarblooder is cool enough, since it fortifies the Tarblooder-Buckeye connection seemingly started with Troy Smith in 2002. What makes this even cooler is this being a glorified poaching from Iowa. Vico and I like to think that somewhere, Tressel is sitting in a chair yelling at Kirk Ferentz, shouting something like “stay out Ohio, Ferentz! Keep your ugly goldbricking ass out of my beach community!”
Granted, we don’t know what exactly he would mean by “beach community” (Edgewater, perhaps?1 ), but it was necessary to use to tie in the reference to The Big Lebowski.
And that reference really tied the post together, did it not?
UPDATE: Domicone makes it 18. This guy could be a darkhorse in the class. 6’3, 4.47 40 (before Butch Reynolds gets through with him) and a great GPA to boot. The interest from Oklahoma and Nebraska suggests he’s far from a mercy offer.
